Rebecca and Zach

Photobucket

Rebecca and Zach were a ton of fun to hang out with yesterday evening! They were naturals in front of the camera and their love for each other was very evident. We are honoured to have been asked to be their photographers for their big day as Rebecca is a fellow photographer.

We decided to shoot in an open field of tall grass and surrounded by thick trees. We also thought it would be fun to add a different spin on things with a ‘travel’ theme. Both Rebecca and Zach have a desire to travel and have done so as a couple. Zach moved out west soon after high school and has been living in BC for the past four years; Rebecca moved out there a year ago. Now that the wedding is soon approaching they have moved back to Ontario to live and work.

Even though we battled swarms of mosquitoes during this shoot, we managed to get shots that didn’t look like we were getting eaten alive!

Thank you both for a great time and thank you Sylvia for allowing us to use your gorgeous property! And we hope that Rebecca and Zach recover from their bug bites… (next time we will bring bug spray).

  1. [...] Zach and Rebecca’s wedding was beautiful! And it was a true DIY wedding. Rebecca put so much of her creativity and artistic direction into the details of their day to represent the both of them. From the romantic rustic ceremony in a barn decorated with sheer flowing fabric swaying softly in the warm summer breeze, to a candle and lantern lit reception accented with antique windows, wild flowers, bird cages, and beautiful moments between Zach and Rebecca captured in photograph and put on display. Their carefully chosen music complimented the afternoon perfectly, with numbers chosen from artists such as Sigur Ros and Bon Iver. They also invited each guest to add to the decor and mood of the day by finger painting leaves on a tree drawn by Becks herself and signing beside it – their guest signing “book” – and offering a section for guests to post “love notes” for the couple. One of our favourite things was the guests’ seating display. The table numbers with corresponding guests’ names were written on the glass of large antique windows – so gorgeous. Zach and Rebecca, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your big day! To view their travel inspired engagement session click HERE [...]
