Autumn Rustic Glam Angus Glen Wedding Photography… We are so excited to finally post Karen and Rico’s awesome Markham wedding, captured in both film and digital photography! Pay close attention to their fun and exquisite details, as they have each been thoughtfully chosen by the couple and creatively crafted by both Karen and her friend, bridesmaid and business partner, Megan. All this was done as they simultaneously planned eachothers’ epic weddings and launched their very own event stationery design and coordination company, FrouFrouHouse! Karen and Rico’s big day began on a bright and sunny early September day. After getting ready with each others’ closest family members and friends, Rico and his groomsmen arrived at Karen’s parents’ home where the great door games began (Karen’s bridesmaids made sure that the games involved a balloon to highlight Rico’s balloon phobia)! Following a traditional tea ceremony with each of their families, Karen, Rico and their wedding party made their way to Angus Glen Golf Club and Conference Centre to begin their portrait session. Starting at the farmhouse on the property, both the structure and the surrounding green space provided a warm and lush context. Karen and Rico’s gorgeous colours popped within the setting, showing off their palette of blush, cream, grey, peach and gold. The light, breezy fabrics of the dresses, paired with Bernard Thibault‘s rustic chic bouquets and floral crowns, were dreamy and romantic. Angus Glen’s barn, tall grass and fairway with the venue in sight were also visited before we headed over to the Great Terrace in preparation for their outdoor ceremony. What made Karen and Rico’s nuptials especially personal and sentimental was that their mutual friend, Matthew, who first introduced them, became ordained in order to officiate their marriage for them! The celebration began once the cocktail hour got under way. Guests lined up to sign the etched wood guest book at the charmingly staged sign-in table. Using mostly reclaimed vintage elements, Karen and Rico’s card box was a retro industrial steel lunchbox, with other props being a gold-painted wooden “holla” sign, an old wooden crate and an old-school mint typewriter. Together with their bridal party, they made a choreographed grand entrance to DJ Snake & Lil’ Jon’s “Turn Down For What“, followed by their first dance as husband and wife! Karen and Rico, you are a blast to be with and your wedding day was just as much fun as you are. The four of us thank you for choosing us to document your wedding!
